Glad I am not the only finance person who thinks that would be intreguing. I can hear the tramples of speculators running to this now.

While futures, options, and contracts would be interesting, I highly doubt it's going to happen. I personally doubt the game's economy would hold up with that much pressure on it. In addition, the devs have better things to do, in my opinion.

As for storage, I've also found myself without enough storage spaces, but I don't think the space needs to be increased. An idea that I think is good though, is to add another inventory bag called the Materials Pouch. It would only be able to carry materials and could carry some set amount of materials so that people who wanted to save materials for future use could do so without wasting storage space.

As for people who just save a bunch of runes and upgrades, I do that too, but the problem there isn't with the storage space. You really don't need to save all those runes and upgrades, it's just a matter of choice, and it's a choice that you've made that costs you your storage space.

I think the idea of a central Guild Hall storage unit would be a good idea... you're not going to place your bestest of best items there (being accessible to the entire guild, even those who manage to join for a day, raid the coffers and leave...), but it could be good to store those extra feathers or green dyes.

Oh I agree futures would never happen but still makes me giggle with glee at the thought.

I like the materials pouch idea.

In AO you had a set amount of inventory then you could buy bags (they were expensive 3-5k each but max gold was like 999k) and effectively fill up you inventory with as many bags as you had slots and each bag held a good chunk. Then there was also storage (called a bank) that you also fill with bags. The insane amount of inventory in that game didnt seem to affect the economy at least not what I could tell for the three years I played it. So I really still haveing a hard time wrapping my mind around this idea about inventory amount skews economy. I mean really think real world, you have infinite access to inventory. You own a home you can fill up with crap, run out of space fill your yard up with crap, run out of space buy more land...doesn't seem to influence the economy other than land prices...

Well IndyCC you can't honestly think that the Guild Wars economy is comparable to a real economy... but I agree that inventory space doesn't have as much impact on economy as a lot of people would think it does. However, that doesn't mean we need more inventory space.
